Port Aransas, Sand Festival April 2009

The kids and I traveled down to Port Aransas, TX to attend the Sand Festival. We were in awe at the amount of skill shown in each of the sand art that we saw. Hope you enjoy all the pictures.

We got a chuckle out of this one. Frosty at the beach with his freezer...

Koi and Pickle

Koi and Pickle you ask. Well let me introduce to you our newest members of our house. Koi is in blue and Pickle you guessed it is in green/yellow. Chey has been asking for a long time and I my resistance finally gave away because here they are in our house.

Unfortuately, Chewie our fat cat seems to think they are for him to harass.
Bad kitty, get down.

Hi Honey

For those of you that know my sweet husband is deployed to Iraq. We are able to communicate via web cam. I know that this is definitely a comfort to me and the kids and I am assuming that it is the same for Mike. Here is what it looks like when we are on the web cam. I love you sweetheart and am praying daily for your safe return home to us.

Silly kids...

Hey, I tell the kids lets get my camera and go take family pictures to send to Dad in Iraq. As you can tell my children are hamming it up in front of the camera yet again. I couldn't pass up not sharing these goofy pictures with all of you....

Cheyenne starts.....

Then she persuades Tony to join in....

Coloring Easter Eggs

We had a great time coloring Easter eggs. Seeing who could make the fanciest colored egg, or the funniest saying on the egg. I remember as a little girl sitting at the table with my siblings hovering over the egg dye, waiting for just the right moment to scoop my egg out.
Careful don't drop it, my Mom would say.

The coloring crew is assembled around the table!
Let the coloring begin....

Colin, putting a wrapper on his egg and anxiously awaiting the next batch of eggs...

Power lifiting... Army style

Mike and a few of his comrades decided to have a little fun "power-lifting" this John Deere gator... Now we have proof of what they do in their down time.... they lift things! and all we thought they did was work in Iraq... guess we were wrong...

This soldier is just along for the ride...
Push Mike, Push!Hold it......
He's got it up for the count.....
Now the other soldier is giving it a try...
Nothing like teamwork!!

Old Fashioned

The kids and I had such a fun time taking these old fashioned pictures. We think the photographer did a wonderful job with us beginner models. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
